But the second you run too many synth auv3, it can definitely start acting buggy. if you just import samples and audio files, you really shouldn't run into any glitches if you're only loading auv3 apps for fx on the audio. The main reason why I do this is because fx apps on an iPad are a lot more stable than synthesizer apps in a DAW. For me, it all comes down to workflow and I find that using an iPad for its variety of fx apps is more useful than its variety of synth apps (including percussion synth). I've really enjoyed audio kits 909 and I've used GarageBand extensively for its percussion. I definitely understand where you're coming from. I still prefer using an iPad over a laptop because using the physical equipment to record onto the iPad doesn't require as much power from the DAW itself. I hope this helps, but after 2 solid years of really making music on an iPad, I realized that physical hardware is still necessary. Once I have a percussive beat on the drum machine, I record each part separately and chop it up within cubasis and add the seperate effects and what not. I'm not sure at this point how to sync my drum machine with the iPad, but with some practice it's easy to get them playing at the same tempo for making the beat together. From there I get it connected within AUM and then route it directly to CB3 via IAA, which is actually pretty easy, but I don't see it talked about too frequently. Right now, I connect my behringer rd-8 drum machine to a Scarlett audio interface. The biggest thing for me is the lack of sounds outside of garageband, but its a hastle to get the files out of GB. I've been struggling with the percussion side of iPad music as well.
